Emmerdale’s Samson Dingle struggles as baby story continues

Emmerdale spoilers to follow.

Samson Dingle will continue to struggle to assert himself Emmerdale‘s story of baby Esther develops.

The reluctant father has been mean lately and devastated Amelia by proposing that her child be put up for adoption.

After arguments with Amelia and Noah, Samson called social services to report Esther’s mother for abuse, his cruelest move yet.

Upon getting wind of Samson’s actions, Sam confronted his son and told him about the sacrifices he made for his late wife, but Samson remained unmoved and bit back, saying he didn’t want to be anything like his father.

In episodes airing next week, Samson begins to understand the gravity of the situation as he is being ostracized for his refusal to become a father.

He feels betrayed when he sees Lydia, Dan, Sam and Amelia with Esther at the coffee shop, where Lydia showers the baby with presents and lets everyone know that the baby is part of their family whether Samson agrees or not.

Lydia keeps her promise by offering to organize Esther’s baptism, much to the delight of Amelia, who is grateful for the suggestion.

With the plans afoot and Lydia engrossed in her leadership role, Amelia squeezes Noah’s hand, the latter pleased that he was involved in the arrangements.

With the group obviously happy, Samson approaches the outside after hearing some gossip, but quickly realizes that his actions and attitude toward parenting have separated him.

With a newfound sense of loneliness, will Samson use this as a turning point to become a better man, or will he redouble his efforts at being an absentee father?
