The set of i am a celebrity was struck by a COVID-19 outbreak just days before the scheduled series finale.

Explaining the matter, a spokesman for the ITV show said: “We can confirm that some members of the production team have tested positive for coronavirus, following all COVID guidelines.”

In the same statement, they noted that “strict measures” were in place throughout the set, with the safety of the cast and crew “being a top priority.” They also clarified that the final, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday evening (November 27), would not be affected by the outbreak.

The 2022 series now has its final five contestants, with Chris Moyles being the latest celebrity to leave the jungle.
