BOY George threatened to quit I’m A Celebrity in an explosive tirade against the crew after they denied him a ride in a golf buggy.
The 61-year-old singer stormed off, stole an apple and then hid behind trees so he couldn’t be filmed.

When he was politely rebuffed, he threw a massive strop – stormed off, stole an apple from the crew and then hid behind trees.
Bewildered producers desperately tried to persuade him to stay, eventually calming down the Karma Chameleon star.
However, bosses later held crisis talks amid fears the hitmaker – one of the highest-paid housemates of all time – might still be walking.
Sources revealed last night that George – who has already been at the center of a number of trouble spots in this series – was put into meltdown mode after a Bushtucker trial.

The singer told the crew he was exhausted and, like Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver, demanded to be taken back to the jungle camp in one of the crew’s buggies.
However, he was told that this would not be fair to the others.
Rather than face the arduous trek back, he barged into a producer’s tent and then hid in the jungle.
A source said: “Sue is allowed to be driven in a golf buggy under special conditions, but the rest of the housemates had to walk back from the stage, which included a steep hill.

“George threw a massive strop and demanded to be driven in his own buggy – but ITV had none of it as they said it wasn’t fair to the others.
“He then barged into one of the production crew’s tents and pinched an apple before hiding behind trees so none of the show’s cameras could catch him.
“It was a real tantrum, but George didn’t back down.
“He threatened to leave the show and at that moment he probably would have done it.

“Luckily one of the producers was able to get him back, put him in a tent and convinced him not to go.
“It was a real storm in a teacup and thankfully he realized that in the end and agreed to go back to camp.”
It was the singer’s latest flare-up, who vowed not to be a diva before moving to the jungle.
He claimed he’s managed to tame his wild ways with yoga and Buddhism and not waste his energy on “pointless” arguments.
But just hours after arriving at camp, the pop star – real name George O’Dowd – submitted to Charlene White for being “imperious” by cooking the celebrities’ dinners.

On Friday night’s show, he clashed with former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, accusing him of giving him a “weird look”.
Speaking to Seann Walsh, George branded Hancock “raunchy” and “slimy” before the politician unexpectedly joined them.
George, who has made no secret of his dislike of Tories, told him: “I hated you, I have to be honest.
“Sometimes I feel like you’re not saying what you mean and you’re not being very direct.”
He continued: “I’m trying to separate you as a person and you as a politician and I’m struggling with that.
“We don’t share the same politics. I have a bit of a problem with you. That’s not your problem, that’s my problem.
“I apologize because I really pissed you off a minute ago.”
Last week, the star was also spotted blowing up his roommate Scarlette Douglas after she tried to question him about his criminal past.
In 2009, George was sentenced to 15 months in prison for falsely detaining and assaulting Norwegian model Audun Carlsen.
When Scarlette asked him what happened, mistakenly mentioning a ‘radiator’, he snapped, ‘That’s not true… it’s not true.
“But thanks for bringing it up. Sometimes these things go into the ether and become folklore. Well done, I know what the whole story was.
“The best way to explain my thing, Scarlette, when I’m beating someone up would be photos.”
He continued, “There were no photos because I didn’t do it. But I did one thing. I handcuffed him, yes.
“Because I had handcuffed the guy, I had already attacked him. So when I said ‘I did it’ I thought ‘I’ll tell the truth, they let me go home’.
“I went to prison for four months. I was also in prison for four months.”

He later raged in the Bush Telegraph: “Scarlette has spoken openly about my trial. I actually thought what she did was inappropriate.”
An ITV spokesman declined to comment last night.
