“I can no longer recommend 2 books by @juliasamuelmbe to anyone going through a loss – grief works and that too should pass. She has been the greatest help to us at a very challenging time.”

Johnny, 55, who battled an addiction to painkillers for 20 years, died in Whiteley’s shopping center in Bayswater, west London, in November 2014 after “losing everything” in a series of failed oil investments.

This was the only way for the businesswoman to see that the family could provide for their daughter financially.

“When I was 50, Lyla’s father died in tragic circumstances. I had stopped watching television. I had no income. I lived on the leftovers of a few books,’ Trinny said.

This year, the idea for Trinny London’s make-up range went from a dream to reality.

“I remember I was at my husband’s funeral and after that I had people at my house and I had some very good friends and they were like, ‘Trinny, we know you want to start this idea, but you have to for Lyla be responsible. Maybe you should get a job instead?”

“I told them I can’t be 60 and wish I had started earlier. So they said send us the business plan when you’re ready and they were one of the first investors.’

Trinny met her late husband, Mr Elichaoff, 55, a former musician, at a rehab clinic in the 1990s. She has been open about her struggles with cocaine and alcohol addiction in the past.

“We’ve started the recovery. He was in a very bad motorcycle accident and he was on painkillers…every year of our marriage he’s been in rehab to deal with that addiction,” she said. They were married for a decade before divorcing in 2009.

“It’s very hard to end a marriage if it’s not like someone dated someone else. It’s more of a sense of responsibility that you have to take responsibility for the decision.

“But after that we were good. We spoke every day and by that time I had met Charles [Saatchi] also. Then things started to go wrong for him and he took his own life.”

“She was just known to be this amazing person and she happened to be a friend of my sister’s. And the day it happened, my sister said I’ll call her.

“Lila was at school and the police came by and I just said I don’t know how to tell her. So Julia came over and then said: “Just say he had a heart attack in his head”.

“So she came home from school and it gets, oh, I always get upset about it. She came home from school and I took her upstairs and told her. She lets out that scream like an animal. And I remember really hugging her, you know when you have a child that’s in pain you really hug and I just said to her those words that Julia had said to me and that was the hardest thing I was in had to do my whole life.’
