The much-anticipated rematch between Emily Upjohn and Tuesday will not take place at the Juddmonte Irish Oaks after Aidan O’Brien opted against a run on Tuesday in the Saturday Classic at the Curragh.

The Cazoo Oaks winner will instead take a mid-summer break before returning in the autumn, keeping an eye on the Arc Trials at Longchamp and the Longines Irish Champions Weekend.

A final eighth was declared for the Irish Oaks on Thursday, with Epsom runner-up Emily Upjohn, who many considered unlucky after an early stumble in the Oaks, the 1-2 favorite with Paddy Power to Frankie Dettori’s sixth win to give in the race.

That would put him on par with Johnny Murtagh as the most successful driver in Irish Oaks history.

Dettori will be aiming for an initial Group 1 for John and Thady Gosden’s team following the ‘sabbatical’ between the strong jockey-trainer combination.

Ribblesdale winner Magical Lagoon is her biggest threat at 4-1, according to the market, while Aidan O’Brien is three-handed in the absence on Tuesday with Emily Dickinson, Toy and History.

The name of Ryan Moore alongside Toy would have come as a surprise to many as she was the outsider of the Ballydoyle trio after the explanation time, beating Paddy Power 33-1. She has since been reduced to 20-1 after the jockey bookings were revealed. Seamie Heffernan partners with Emily Dickinson while Wayne Lordan joins History.

Of the decision not to run on Tuesday, O’Brien said: “She will now be on a little summer break and be trained for the fall. Arc Trial Day and Irish Champion Stakes Day are going to be happening with us thoughts, something like that.”

When asked if it was a difficult decision not to roll the dice again, O’Brien replied: “It was a difficult decision. Obviously when we rolled them back into the Irish derby we didn’t want to overwhelm them and there is that a lot.” remaining time in the season.”

Jessica Harrington is doubly represented as first Curragh winner Fennela will join Magical Lagoon in the lineup, while Ger Lyons and Colin Keane, who teamed up to win the 2020 Irish Oaks with Even So, are hoping to do the same with the hat to do. Trick search Cairde Go Deodorant.

The Show Of Stars coached by Paddy Twomey completes the line-up.

British-trained pairing Equilateral and Last Crusader will travel to Ireland for the five-furlong Group 2 Barberstown Castle Sapphire Stakes (3.10). Mooneista, New York City and Castle Star make up the home challenge in an auspicious sprint.
