G-SHOCK uses longtime partner to create its Signature 40th Logo design and limited edition timepiece

DOVER, NJ, October 19, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Today Casio Americainc starts the 40thth G-SHOCK celebrates its anniversary with a new limited edition model, the GMWB5000EH-1, and a commemorative logo in collaboration with renowned artist and designer ERIC HAZE. The G-SHOCK x ERIC HAZE partnership will be familiar to longtime fans of the brand as the two have worked together for more than 20 years creating celebratory timepieces and milestone anniversary logos including the 25thth30th35thand now 40th Anniversary logos and identity for G-SHOCK.

For the 40thth Anniversary collaboration, the GMWB5000EH-1 comes to life as an all-metal watch that has its roots in the legendary DW5000C, the very first G-SHOCK model. This nod to the past modernizes the classic silhouette with stainless steel construction, urban design sensibility and functionality from G-SHOCK in 2023, celebrating the rich and expansive history of the brand.

The unique metal band is embellished with Eric Haze’s signature symbol pattern consisting of his stars, arrows and crowns and is manufactured using IP plating and laser etching processes. The stainless steel band has a gloss black IP finish which is laser engraved with a dot pattern. The combination of large, medium and small dots creates shading and a distinctive graphic design across the entire band.

Wearers will notice G-SHOCK’s attention to detail with the 40th Anniversary logo on the screw-down caseback, which features a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating, as well as the infamous HAZE logo that illuminates the back of the dial. To further commemorate this momentous occasion, special packaging has been designed by ERIC HAZE, making the GMWB5000EH-1 a must have for watch enthusiasts and collectors.
