Sophie Wessex looks effortlessly chic as she opens the new JCB factory

The Countess of Wessex cut an elegant figure today as she attended an engagement.

The stylish king braved the rain to open a new manufacturing facility for JCB in Uttoxeter this morning.

Prince Edward’s wife, 57, donned a brown and blue gingham coat from Harris Wharf London, which she first wore in March.

She paired it with a beloved, baggy, forest-green Alberta Ferretti skirt, which she’s also worn a number of times.

At today’s event, the mother-of-two unveiled a plaque at the plant, congratulating JCB staff on their fundraising efforts for the NSPCC, the child protection organization of which she is a patron.

Sophie later traveled to Safe Space in Newcastle Under Lyme, UK where she learned about the work of staff and volunteers at the local refugee program before visiting the local Salvation Army centre.

Sophie got out of her car while a helper rushed over with an umbrella to protect her from the cold November rain.

With a relaxed face, the mother of two met with the JCB staff who will be working at the plant, as well as company officials.

She wore the pleated, high-waisted green skirt with a sheer knit sweater in a warm burgundy hue, and paired the look with a clutch bag in a similar hue from designer Sophie Habsburg, who she debuted last week.

The mother-of-two added an autumnal touch to her outfit with a pair of brown suede boots.
