Coronation Street’s Hope was spooked by the John Stape session

Coronation Street spoilers to follow.

Strange things are going on inside Coronation Street There is a meeting next week – but it seems to Hope that it may have been more successful than anyone could have imagined.

The spooky tale begins as Fiz and Tyrone celebrate their engagement – but the moment is muted a bit when the person who wrote the book about her long-dead ex, John Stape, stops by.

The journalist reveals that he has all the research he did on John with him and that he wants Fiz to have it so he doesn’t accidentally end up with someone he shouldn’t have.

Worried about the thought of all the information about John lying around the house, Fiz asks Chesney if he could hide it in his home and Gemma decides to tuck the bag away in a cupboard out of sight.

While everyone is talking about John, Hope keeps thinking about her father and asks her friends if they can hold a session to see if they are able to connect with him beyond the grave.

Joseph and Sam agree to help, and Chesney and Gemma’s session begins – with surprising results.

While they are trying to contact John, Joseph feels hungry and goes to the cupboard to get some cookies, but the bag containing the author’s research material falls out and the contents spill onto the floor.

John was Fiz’s husband and died in a car accident in 2011. The villain has had plenty to do on the cobblestones, including having an affair with his student Rosie Webster.

He became one of many Coronation Street Killers – most notably the murder of Charlotte Hoyle during the events of the 2010 streetcar accident.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
