Premier League Predictions: Mark Lawrenson's verdict on every game this weekend

Premier League predictions: Mark Lawrenson backs Leeds to beat Leicester tonight

Brighton fans must have thought ‘Roberto De Zerbi will be good’ after the 3-3 draw at Liverpool, but they have lost twice since then. Their form can be like this – either very hot or very cold. Forest shot themselves in the leg last weekend, missing a penalty, so should have secured a draw. BRIGHTON 1-2 FOREST

RESULT: Forest Brighton 0-0

Palace don’t get many zero-zero draws away so they can be happy with that. There is still no new manager for Wolves but they are buoyed by their win at the weekend. PALACE 0-1 WOLVES

RESULT: Palace 2-1 Wolves

Gary O’Neil did so well at Bournemouth, they’ve improved and are looking really lively for the future. But this is a south coast derby and I have a feeling Southampton will take all the points. BOURNEMOUTH 1-2 SOUTHAMPTON

RESULT: Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton

Chelsea are on the right track and there’s real competition for places there. Graham Potter likes to rotate and that means his players think they have a chance to play. Brentford beat Brighton last time out but that’s a step up. BRENTFORD 1-2 CHELSEA

RESULT: Brentford 0-0 Chelsea

The way Liverpool played against Man City, it doesn’t matter if they can’t win that game. You would be back at the beginning. David Moyes will make it difficult for them to defend set pieces, but you would be really concerned if the home team doesn’t win here. LIVERPOOL 2-0 WEST HAM

RESULT: Liverpool 1-0 West Ham

Newcastle are on the right track and full of confidence. Everton didn’t really put a gauntlet on Tottenham last weekend and don’t carry a major goal threat. NEWCASTLE 2-0 EVERTON

RESULT: Newcastle 1-0 Everton

Man Utd are still looking for a bit of rhythm under Erik ten Hag, they’re getting there slowly but that could be tricky. Spurs are a tough side to beat and when they score first it’s a real nuisance to collapse. MAN UTD 1-2 LANES

RESULT: Man Utd 2-0 Spurs

Villa does very little and I think Steven Gerrard needs to find a way to play his two frontmen and let them go and cause chaos. Fulham are playing well and Aleksandar Mitrovic is such a handful. FULHAM 1-1 VILLA

Leeds will kick themselves for not taking points from Arsenal. Only in the last third is there a lack of quality. Leicester have picked up a point against Palace but there is a lot of unhappiness. You have to be careful, they’re not too good to sink. LEICESTER 1-2 LEEDS

So you’ve heard what Mark Lawrenson has to say, but can this week’s Paddy Power punter best our prediction guru?

If you don’t know what we’re talking about, where have you been? Each Premier League matchday, we’ll pay a minimum of £/€50 – more if there’s a rollover – to anyone who can outsmart Lawro in guessing the result of that week’s matches.

Lawro has been on top form lately meaning the rollover is now £/€200 and Everton fan Pete is struggling for victory mid-week. Here’s what he envisions of the nine games…

Brighton 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace 2-0 Wolves

Bournemouth 2-1 Southampton

Brentford 1-1 Chelsea

Liverpool 3-1 West Ham

Newcastle 0-0 Everton

Manchester United 1-1 Tottenham

Fulham 2-1 Aston Villa

Leicester 0-2 Leeds

Here’s a quick reminder of these extremely important rules: We award one point for a correct score and three points for a correct score (maximum of three points per game, no four-point points here). May the best man win!

Going into Thursday’s final two games, Lawro has just three points after correctly predicting three results but failing to get any correct results.

Our challenger Pete also has three points after also predicting three correct results but no correct results.
